Reach Out and Read and Scholastic are proud to announce this year’s Judy Newman Book Award will be I Am Enough by Grace Byers.
The annual award highlights one book that resonates with families and encourages them to read aloud together. I Am Enough is a beautifully written and illustrated book that promotes the message that we are unique and that will always be enough.
We are uplifted by one of our favorite lines, “And in the end, we are right here, to live a life of love, not fear… to help each other when it’s tough, to say together: I am enough.”
The award upholds the belief that finding the right book at the right time can light an emotional spark within a child that motivates him or her to read more, understand more, and read joyfully. When that happens, the world opens. Everything becomes possible.
