Executive Director of Reach Out and Read Bay Area Artavia Berry joined host Olivia Horton to chat about their mission to help promote literacy and the importance of diversity in children’s books.
“The premise of our work is to promote early relational health as well as early reading using pediatricians as our primary partner,” Artavia said. “When you bring your child to the doctor, if you’ve ever gotten a book, 9 times out of 10 it was because of a Reach Out and Read partnership at that clinic.”
