(WISH-TV)

Reach Out and Read Indiana has received a significant boost with a $60,000 investment from the McKenzie Scott Foundation to enhance early childhood literacy across the state.

The funding will allow the organization to expand its reach, aiming to double its impact by providing books and literacy support to more children in Indiana. Currently, Reach Out and Read touches the lives of about one in four children in the state, distributing over 160,000 books last year.

“It’s really exciting. It’s going to let us build out our program to reach more kids,” Dr. Evan Kreutzer, who is involved with the program, said.
