LaMartha Boock

LaMartha Boock was born at Bellevue Hospital in New York City, where, at 17 years old today, she continues to receive routine pediatric care services. As an infant and a toddler, LaMartha and her father, Jean-Calvin Boock, experienced first-hand the Reach Out and Read (ROR) Program at Bellevue Hospital. The program left indelible and invaluable marks in LaMartha’s mind as, in her very early age, the ROR program ignited LaMartha’s reading and drawing appetite. 17 years later, LaMartha happily and surprisingly realized that the ROR program is still positively impacting children at Bellevue Hospital. It takes a whole Village to raise a well-rounded child. The ROR program is an important part of LaMartha’s Village… This coming Fall, LaMartha will be a Freshman at the University of San Diego, CA, majoring in Biomedical Engineering.
