A Year of Reading + Relationships: FY25 Annual Report
This year, Reach Out and Read reached more children and families than ever before. Together, we served 4.8 million children and shared 9 million books across 11.2 million well-child visits. In exam rooms across the country, clinicians helped parents make reading and connection a natural part of every child’s healthy beginning. I am grateful to each of the 41,000 clinicians whose care and dedication make this possible.
We also expanded our footprint, adding more than 500 new sites and launching new Affiliates in California, the Midwest, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. For the second time, the American Academy of Pediatrics endorsed our work — a powerful affirmation supported by new research demonstrating how our model strengthens the parent-clinician relationship and supports healthier developmental outcomes.
This year’s growth was fueled by generous partners and supporters, including significant national recognition through Nicholas Kristof’s Holiday Impact Prize and The New York Times. That momentum is helping us bring this proven model to more families and communities.
As you explore this report, you’ll find big wins and booklists, data and donors, profiles and partnerships, and so many voices speaking about the power of Reach Out and Read. You will also see the collective impact of a movement built over decades — and the possibilities ahead. I am honored to join you in this work and energized by what we can achieve together.
Thank you for your commitment to children, families, and the connections that shape their earliest years.
