biography

I am a faculty of the University of Colorado School of Medicine. I am currently the nurse practitioner and Program Director for the Sie Center for Down Syndrome at Children’s Hospital Colorado. Prior to this position I was a nurse practitioner in Child Neurology at Children’s Hospital Colorado as well as at Children’s Hospital Medical Center, Cincinnati, Ohio. I was a Pediatric Instructor at Good Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing for 17 years prior to my clinical positions. In this role I taught Pediatrics and Obstetrics and developed several community education programs including a sibling preparation program, a latch-key child educational series and an educational program for adults interested in adopting a child. I started the Reach Out and Read Program in our Down syndrome clinic, the first clinic to have the ROR program in a Down syndrome clinic. I also serve on the Board or Reach Out and Reach Colorado.
